While it’s the fashion to bash the Co-op, and much is deserved I have no doubt, they did take me on as the ‘man in the back’- and can be kind in lending staff at present. regarding other publicised activities – I say “tsk tsk”.
But what I do know is that their pay scales are legendarily low – tempting to say something like ‘if you pay peanuts you attract monkeys’.
However the bonus their harrassed and chaotically managed staff got they probably deserve.
Whether the corporate culture deserves to receive generous funding from their clients is another question altogether.
I readily agree with the gist of what you are saying James. However, the criteria applied to these bonus payments is solely based on sales and not client satisfaction feedback or increased volume etc, which can hardly be described as a reward for hard work and dedication.
As a secular celebrant,I have put in my bonus claim, calculated on the apparent satisfaction of clients – it went in to the Grim Reaper a while ago, but so far, not a damned word.I think perhaps that, as a criterion for bonuses, the GR, like it seems the Co-op, is more interested in through-put volume than quality…
GM, you are back! We have been GM-free for what feels like so long.
My dear old thing, if you don’t reach your targets, what can you expect? Targets are NUMBERS.
