Nice work

We’re all of us connoisseurs of fine embalming here at the GFG-Batesville Shard. In the last two days we have talked about little except these two above.

First, you see Bill Standley, buried on his motoring bicycle. The second miracle of the restorative arts is Christopher Rivera, shot to death but, at his wake, still standing.

We hope this may serve to inspire our native embalmers.

How do you pose a corpse in this way? We haven’t a clue. Do you?

  1. Not for me. Also yet another decision to make! Religious or secular? Cremation or burial. Lying in a coffin or striking a pose?

  2. I think hands posed in a welcoming gesture would make the experience of ‘viewing’ in the ‘chapel of rest’ very much more comfortable. I’d like a very simple thumbs-up and have just added it to my list of funeral instructions.

  3. In that case I’ll go for my right hand in a fist – shaking hands and high fives are so awkward when you’re dead. But a fist bump would work.
